Just out of its southern border lie Zemun- Belgrade’s lazy younger brother with its cobblestoned streets, amazing waterfront, charming Gardoš hill, and pointy tower. On the far north, the colorful city of Subotica tells a story of Hungarian secession and a tranquil way of life by lake Palić. On the west, stands the city of Sombor, built to be a regional center of the Hungarian Kingdom. Its grandiose county administration palace houses one of the largest oil paintings in the world- Battle of Senta. Today the province capital, the warm and hospitable city of Novi Sad, together with the Petrovaradin fortress that tells stories of struggle, intrigue, and intelligence war between empires, keeps the historical record of the importance of this region.

DAY 1
Our guide will pick you up at 9 am, from your accommodation. We will pass through New Belgrade to reach what is today The Municipality of Zemun. ‘Till 100 years ago, it was the southernmost city of The Kingdom of Hungary. We will walk through the center and the farmers market, then climb the Gardoš hill to see the only Millennium Tower still standing, built in 1896 to commemorate 1000 years of Hungarian presence in Pannonia. After a coffee break with a view over the Danube, we will continue to the far north of Vojvodina- the City of Subotica. Upon arrival, we will have lunch in a backyard restaurant of the Raichle Palace- one of the masterpieces of Hungarian secession. After lunch, we will walk down the city’s Corso, and pay a visit to the magnificent fairytale-like City Hall after which, we will also see The Subotica Synagogue. We will spend the rest of our evening at the historical sport and spa resort by lake Palić, where we will also have dinner and overnight.
DAY 2
After breakfast, we will head to Sombor, once a free city and a regional capital of The Kingdom of Hungary, where we will pass you on to our horse coach driver who will give you a tour of the city like in the old times. During the ride, you will be amazed by the tranquility and serenity of the locals and enjoy them like last-century travelers. Later on, we will make a coffee break and taste some local sweets- Komboce, which Sombor is famous for. The cherry on top of our sightseeing will be a visit to the former County Administration Palace. Our next stop is the refined, easygoing, and colorful city of Novi Sad, the capital city of Vojvodina province, and the second biggest city in Serbia. After the walking tour through the Old Town, we will cross the Danube to reach the ramparts of the Petrovaradin fortress and have lunch by the river. It is time to enter one of the largest fortification systems ever built and reach its top to enjoy the most beautiful view at Novi Sad. After an hour-long drive, we will be back in Belgrade and our guide will drop you off at your accommodation.
